Your customers answering each other, on your domain.

Somewhere for your people to talk that is not a Facebook group.

$399 for your first year — everything included.

Handed over working, not handed over to configure

  • A forum at your own address, ready for its first post within 48 hours, and the administrator login is yours.
  • Unlimited members and unlimited discussions. Nothing here is priced per person.
  • A layout that works on a phone, which is where most of the reading happens.
  • Tags and categories set up for what your people will actually talk about.
  • Moderation that one person can keep up with — reports, locks, bans and a queue.
  • Every discussion indexed by Google, so the answers keep working long after the conversation.
  • Email notifications people can actually control, so nobody leaves over the noise.
  • Nightly backups kept 30 days, because a community is its archive.

What you pay, and what it covers

Two figures. No line items, no setup charge broken out, and nothing you find out about after the invoice.

Your first year

$399

Once, before anything is built.

  • The whole thing built, configured and tested before you see it.
  • Your domain registered in your name and pointed at it.
  • Cloudflare, the certificate and the monitoring, all in place on day one.
  • Twelve months of me keeping it running.
  • Your login, within 48 hours of payment clearing.

Every year after that

$299

Once a year, and only if you want another year.

  • Your domain renewed, still in your name.
  • Another twelve months of updates, patches, backups and monitoring.
  • The same support, answered by the same person.
  • Nothing rebuilt and nothing set up again — which is why it costs less.

This is an annual payment. One invoice, once a year. Nothing is billed monthly, nothing auto-charges, and no card is kept on file. I invoice you 30 days before renewal and you decide what to do — which is also why the reminder arrives while cancelling still costs nothing.

All figures in USD.

Need more? Extra capacity is available at any time — just ask. Nothing is rebuilt and there is no second setup fee.

Email on your own domain

The domain is already yours and already in the price. Mailboxes on it are the one thing that is not, and they are the cheapest upgrade in how your business reads to somebody who has never met you.

Business email

$49

A year, on top of your plan. Up to 5 mailboxes.

  • you@yourcompany.com instead of a generic address. It is the first thing a client notices and the last thing they forget.
  • Works in Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail and on your phone. Nothing new to learn and nothing to install.
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up properly, so what you send actually lands in an inbox.
  • Shared addresses as well — info@, sales@, support@ — pointing wherever you want them to.
  • On the same invoice as everything else, renewing with your plan. Never a second bill from anyone.

Or not

Keep the address you already use.

  • Your community forum works exactly the same either way.
  • Nothing about the plan changes and nothing is disabled.
  • You can add it later, at the same price, on your next invoice.

Say yes on the order form, or ask me about it first. Adding it a year from now costs exactly the same as adding it today.

What this does not cover

Stated plainly, so nobody finds out after paying.

  • Finding you members. A forum does not create an audience; it gives one you already have somewhere to go.
  • Moderating it. That is yours, and it is the real work.
  • Writing seed content or starting the first conversations.
  • Paid extensions or a bespoke theme. Buy the licence and I install it.
  • Migrating an existing forum with its history. Ask and I quote it, though it is rarely cheap.

Things I will do, quoted separately

  • Bringing your old data over — Your new app arrives blank, and for most people that is the right way to start. If it is not — you have years of invoices, a real customer list, a library of course material — send me a sample and roughly how much there is, and I will quote moving it. It is usually less than people expect.
  • Writing the words — Page copy, product descriptions, course material. I will tell you for nothing whether what you have is strong enough. Writing it from scratch is a separate job with a separate quote.
  • Building something that is not there — A feature your business needs and the app does not have. Describe what should happen and I will tell you honestly whether it is an afternoon or a fortnight before either of us commits.
  • More room — Storage, bandwidth, users or any other cap on your plan. Ask and I quote the difference. Nothing is rebuilt and there is never a second setup fee.

How your community forum gets built

  1. Answer nine questions about who is coming, what they will discuss, and your domain.

  2. I confirm the categories and whether any of it should be private, then invoice.

  3. You pay. I register the domain, deploy it, build the categories and set the moderation rules.

  4. Within 48 hours it is open and you can invite the first people in.

Before you order

Should I actually buy this?

Probably not yet, and I would rather say so now. A forum with nobody in it is worse than no forum, because it looks abandoned to everybody who visits. This is worth it when you already have an audience somewhere else — a mailing list, a busy inbox, a Facebook group you want off Facebook. If you are starting from nothing, spend the money on the Newsletter System first and come back.

Why not just use a Facebook group?

Because none of it is yours. Not the members, not the archive, not the reach, and not the decision about whether any of it stays up. A group also cannot be found on Google, so every answer your community writes is invisible the moment the conversation scrolls past.

How much moderation will this need?

More than you expect at the start and much less once the regulars appear. The tools are here — reports, locks, bans, a moderation queue — but the judgement is yours. If nobody in your business has an hour a week for it, do not start one.

Can I keep parts of it private?

Yes. Some categories public and indexed, others visible only to members or to a group you name. Plenty of people run an open help section and a private one for paying customers on the same forum.

What happens if it takes off?

Good problem, and a real one. Members and discussions are unlimited, but a genuinely busy forum uses more of the plan than a quiet one. I watch it and I contact you before anything is throttled, with a quote for the bigger plan.

Ready when you are

Eight quick questions, about two minutes. No account, no payment on this site — you get an invoice and you decide.
